Basic Information for Acting Competition

 

Anyone may enter the Acting Competition.  You do not need to be a registered participant of the festival to participate.

 

Registration for the Acting Competition will be available at the registration desk at the start of the festival.  Registration for the acting competition is $5 (cash or check).  

 

You must perform in the initial acting competition round during the festival. Four participants from the initial round will be selected to move on to the final Acting Competition round. If you are selected to move on to the Acting Competition Final round, you must be available to perform your monologue at the Acting Competition Final.

 

Criteria for Acting Competition

 

Present a piece of any dramatic or comedic material not to exceed two minutes. No props, costumes, or effects(including live or recorded music) of any kind will be allowed. Two festival representatives will select four finalists from the preliminary rounds to perform in the Acting Competition Finals. Judges for the finals will consist of one representative from each main stage company. The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony.
